Environmentalists are opposed to ANY use of fossil fuels for any reason. That they have no? practical alternatives to offer to fossil fuels is irrelevant to them, because they are FANATICS. As for Alberta’s oil sands, there is more oil there than in the entire Middle East. One trillion barrels of oil is now accessible with current technology, with two trillion more in reserve. Saudi Arabia opposes oil sands oil, and is funding US universities. Most oil sands oil is drilled, not strip mined.

And? now Obama has further denied any pipeline construction for his own political reasons. With the upcoming election he has to keep enviromentalists happy. The pipeline will be constructed if and when he wins the next election, at that time he’ll be fucking over both sides of the political and public coin and laughing in all of our faces.
There will come a day when he leaves this country and hides out like the Shah of Iran did back in the day, he’ll have to leave or pay for his crimes here.
Keystone XL will not lessen U.S. dependence on foreign oil, but transport Canadian oil to American refineries for export to overseas markets.
